An Evening on the Beach is a fundraiser supporting St. Vincent Meals on Wheels, at the Jonathan Beach Club in Santa Monica. With over 600 people in attendance, the event managed to raise a quarter of a million dollars for the organization, which serves over 3,000 meals to home bound seniors, disabled and terminal patients, and the homeless in Los Angeles.
Some of my favorite bites of the event were Petrossian’s yellowtail w/caviar, Union’s grilled octopus, and Osteria Mozza’s amazing fruit pie with a lemon verbena gelato!
The most impressive spread was by Wexler’s Deli, which literally had a spread of their smoked fish, including salmon, pastrami salmon, whitefish, etc. It was also one of the most popular spots at the event.
This was the first time I’ve attended this event, but it will be on my radar next year. While it may be over now, St. Vincent’s Meals on Wheels is always looking for donations and volunteers, so check out their site to see how you can help! Here are some more dishes from the event:
