Stu and the Kids 2016

It’s a pretty inspiring story, an American chef travels to Thailand and falls in love with the country and the people, particularly the children of a school for orphaned and underprivileged kids.  The chef moves to Thailand and works at the school and then comes back to the states and calls up his chef friends to throw fundraisers across the country for kids thousands of miles away.  The chef’s name is Stuart Skversky, and the event is Stu and the Kids!

Held at Vibiana in downtown LA, the participant count doubled from last year and included some top-notch talent, including Andy Ricker of Pok Pok, Jason Neroni of the Rose Cafe, Neal Fraser of Redbird (right next door–and Neal also participated in Live and Dine LA on the same day).  I was a bit late coming to the event but managed to still catch some great food.  Here are some highlights:

There was also all-you-can-drink Thai iced tea and fresh young coconuts, pretty much heaven in my opinion!  This is a great event for a great cause, and Stu holds multiple Stu and the Kids in places like New York, Philadelphia, Boston, and Montreal, so visit his website and find out when one might be coming to your area, or for other ways to help!
